Sebenza 25 lock up

Whether the lockup is early or late, if the lock functions properly I would leave it alone.

Leave the lock-bar tension alone. Your thumb will toughen up.

The general rule for lock-bar tension is that the lock-bar should barely touch the opposite/non-locking side, when the blade is removed from an assembled handle... but, like others have said, leave it alone. ;)

Good luck. :)

Not on any of the knives I've done it on. Perhaps you did it wrong?

Perhaps. Or perhaps putting a slight bind on the hardware of a Sebenza will not change the lockup permanently.

IIRC, in your video, you did not do the mandatory post-assembly wrist flick after tightening the screws, so the lockup could have appeared to be slightly earlier just from the minute movement in the stop pin sleeve.

At any rate, what difference does it make what the lockup is on a CRK, so long as it is greater than 50%, less than 100%, and there is no blade play? CRK locks do not "wear in" much, so even if a knife does have an earlier lockup, it really does not add to the life of the knife.

Chris' work is simply stunning. He's a genius when it comes to design and execution of his ideas.

Exactly. We gotta obsess about something though, am I right? ;)

Late lockup is generally considered safer than early lockup... *shrug*
