Well, It's been awhile...
My Sebenza 25 from the first batch has been working famously!
I haven't cleaned or sharpened it since my last post in June of 2013...so I decided it was time for a tune up...it was still smooth and has an awesome working edge, it will def not push cut newspaper but it cuts like a champ, not bad for some so called "soft" s35vn. I can't say the same for any other steel that i've used.
This is the longest I've ever carried one knife ever and the longest I've gone without a cleaning or sharpening. That's got to be worth something!
So I took some pics of the tear down...and was pleasantly surprised...the grease was all intact and not a single piece of dust had migrated into the washers or the grease groves in the blade hole...and as always with the pivot screw removed it still had no blade play, locked up the same and was perfectly centered...and as always I still haven't put a drop of loc tite on the pivot screw.
Also my percentage of lockup hasn't moved at all, the same as day one.
Not sure if it has something to do with the 35vn or maybe they just aren't stonewashing the same but superficial scratches show up more, not a problem as this is a lifetime user, shows character.
The handles have taken some sanding from repeated sheathing and unsheathing with my belt sheath.
And I know that everyone likes in-use pics so I've taken a few whenever I get a chance, so on to the pictures...
