Just some observations. The washers look a little too yellow brassy and the wear from them looks high compared to the thumb stud wear.

Is it me or can you see the grind marks under the stonewash with the flash...

weird one here...

My 08 pre idaho even has markings on everything.

Edit: Also the heal of the blade tang behind the thumb serrations is missing the chamfer...

So, the sterile blade and slabs is possible, but not with the Idaho stamp, that’s out of place for an early Sebenza. If it is real, like loon#r stated, it’s not original and may have been put together. Don’t know if any non stamped date codes made it out the door with the Idaho stamp. I’ve never seen one.
The other thing that looks off is the short screw for the pivot. I’ve always thought that all three screws were the same length. I’ve got a P Sebenza that doesn’t have date code stamps. I’ve never taken it apart, so I don’t know if mine has different screw lengths. It’s been a while since I’ve taken an older Sebenza apart to verify if the early models in fact did have different screw lengths.
The other thing that looks off is the thumb lugs being high on the blade, As real as it looks, it very well could be a fake.

Also.. that plung grind.. shouldnt it be tapered back a bit further based on the age range?

Not saying it's definitely fake, but honestly that knife has too many red flags for me personally. It even has the box style many of the fakes insist on using. It doesn't have torx screws but those could've been swapped with real CRK screws.

The screws aren't real either. The screw heads should be oval heads and have a taper on the bottom. those are flat bottom button heads.

I am aligned with the growing consensus it’s fake, some very keen observations! Well
Done.

The scary thing is had the birth card not been such a red flag and the pictures from the seller not been so thorough, this could have easily tricked the casual CRK buyer. the best fake I’ve seen.

Seems like this horse is a goner.
