Hey guys!

Im tossing around the idea of splurging on a Sebenza 21 here pretty soon. I have never handled one, but I hear great things, and I love the way it looks.

My question, what else should I look at that is in the price range, similar quality, and low key simple looks? I am open to the idea of spending a little more and getting something with Damascus :D

I currently have a BM Mini-grip CPM-M4 w/ cerekote, BM Mini Barrage w/ 154CM, Bradley Cutlery Mayhem w/ S30V, and a few other lower quality knives, to give you an idea on my tastes.

You can't go wrong with the Sebenza. There's nothing else quite like it. If you're willing to shell out the dough, I say go for it

You can find other frame locks that are cheaper & some of them are very good, but there is only one Sebenza. If you want one, go for it. The quality is remembered long after the price is forgotten. :)

sebenzas are great I love mine but you could also look at William henry knives. WH knives range from EDC for 275 up to crazy artwork for 5k and tons of options in between including lots of Damascus.

I have a sebenza 25, my zt, bm, pro tech, paramilitary, are all boxed up now. I only need the sebenza for my edc.
Just my preference.

A few that seem to be mentioned often as "somewhat similar": AG Russell Acies, Bradley Alias, Sage 2, Three Sisters Forge Beast. If you're looking for something smaller, consider the Mnandi.

CRK makes some very, very nice knives. I would recommend looking into the Umnumzaan though. It has some features that make it a tad more unique than the Sebenza.

Then its decided, I will be getting a sebenza in the near future :) Toss some cash aside here and there and I will get it soon :)

I'd watch the Exchange. It seems most that get sold are LNIB or very light users, and often you see some really good deals. If for some reason you don't like it, you can always get your money back. It's not a knife for all people, but it's a knife for a lot of people. ;)

It's my only folder worth more $ than fingers on my hand.

I think that's a good summary. I have to say I made it for many decades without one. My adult sons finally gave me one - I was sort of a revelation. Even other CRK folders just aren't the same. Some are better from certain perspectives or for specific uses, but the Sebenza is almost literally one of a kind.

If you pay a market price for a used one, you can probably get back your money in full if it doesn't agree with you.

Les George VECP, an excellent quality Mid Tech.

The Pro Tech manual TR3 or Integrity is another excellent choice.

Sebenza small insingo probably best edc knife ever made.In my opinion and many others of course.:D

I got my 25 from Matt d tactical he is on the list for knife dealers on BF, very nice and got the knife quick.

I have a small Sebenza 21 and its the best knife i have ever bought. I was thinking on selling off all my other knives and just keeping the Sebenza but then realized variety is the spice of life. So now a larger 21 or 25 is coming in the future.

i would say get one!!! they are totally worth it!!!

I have a Small Sebenza 21 Plain and it truly is one of the absolute best EDC knives you can get.

I also have one of the somewhat Rare CRKT Large Sebenza 21's.

The CRKT is more of a collectors piece, but does get carried from time to time(no safe queens here).

It also depends on how you carry your knife and what size works better for you.

Even though I love my Small 21, I've started to carry larger knives way more than smaller.

There are plenty of reviews you can look at, both here on the forums and on YouTube.

But IMO you CANNOT go wrong with any Sebenza purchase, its just that perfect and iconic for a reason.

Just my .02
