Your talking differences of a sheet of paper! You can really see a difference between .011 and .016? Really?

What kinda numbers do you want to see? +-.001? Better? Honestly it was only $400 bucks, not $40,000 like an airplane part with the kinda of tolerance your giving.

It must be scraped, send to me and I'll make sure it gets into a chip bin

I too don't think the blades are warped, we all know the blades are ground by hand so a few thousandth's no big deal imo, as long as its not way off center then I don't see a problem. I don't know if any of you have tried to hollow grind a before but its not easy. I think I've seen 1 or maybe 2 Seb's that were noticably bias to one side and I think they were both Insingo's CRK's are at the top when it comes to F&F in imo at least. Put the Calipers down people for the love of god and go use your knife and enjoy it, thats what you bough it for right

I have no idea whether the blades in question were wapred. Years ago I did get two 710HS knives that had warped blades. I checked them against a machinist's straightedge to confirm that. Benchmade replaced them under warranty.

Why does everyone care how someone else judges their knives?
The OP has shown what qualities he wants from CRK, and given numbers to back it up.

We all want different qualities in our knives.
A company that makes me happy may not make you happy.

Seems like you are either happy with CRK or you are wrong...

Ultimately, you're 100% correct. We're basically expressing our own opinions of what we find acceptable in a tool. I'm of the opinion that a punctilious degree of perfection is unrealistic for any tool, regardless of price; but at the same time, a mediocre attempt to center a blade on a relatively expensive knife would be unacceptable too.

Only the owner can determine if their truly satisfied with a product. I don't think someone else is wrong, just because their quality measure differs from mine. But, I do believe that quality expectation should always be realistic.

I don't think "qualities" is the right word to use here. The knives seem to be with in spec for CRK production as they were sold so I think the OP is expecting / wanting better tolerances from the CRK shop.

I think he should just call Chris and talk to him about it...

Update 3/8/13: Been thinking about this for some time. Decided to edit my last post rather than making a new one and reviving this thread. I think my expectations were a bit high. I kept hearing about perfection from many CRK owners. My definition of perfection is quite literal. As such, my Sebenza wasn't perfect and I was disappointed.

I recently purchased another large Insingo and am quite happy with it. It's not perfect by my definition, but it certainly delivers quality, fit, and finish that I consider excellent.

I'm closing this thread down. May it rest in peace...

I couldn't see anything being off centered in the Sebenza picture which was posted. That said, no one has ventured that it could be as simple as one side of the pivot bushing being a little bit off true. When tightened down, that could cause the blade to be off center but not warped.
