Sebenza, Classic or 21? Plain or Micarta?

I prefer the look of the plain, especially after use. It's also thinner in the pocket.

The micarta is very comfortable in hand, however.

Get both if you can afford it! ;)

Id just get the plain 21. Its cheaper and looks better imo. I don't find the grip to be a real factor for me. The grip is secure enough for me even when wet.

My personal preference is plain. It the first "cheap" preference I've had! :D

I think the Sebenza looks it's best in it's raw, titanium nekkidness ;)

I would also suggest the plain 21. If you get bored of the simple TI look, you can always get Barry H to make you a custom scale. Then it would come out to about the same cost as a Small Micarta.

I too was going to purchase a small micarta 21, but figured if I sent it off to get modded, what would be the point of spending that extra cash?

It seems unanimous on plain, and I agree, whatcha gonna do? If you want to be really bold, and I do recommend it, find a plain Regular Seb. It's chunkier and has a better blade shape, unless you prefer the sleekness of the 21. Still can't go wrong.

How much better is the grip with the micarta model over the plain?

Much, esp when wet. Micarta has a great grip when wet or bloody.
It really helps to fill the hand on the small as well.

I have no doubt that the titanium slabs will hold up for a lifetime, but how well does the micarta hold up over time?

Longer than we will. Lifetime warranty, but you wouldn't need it.

Look pretty good as well.

On days when my clothing prohibits use of the pocket clip, how badly will my keys scratch up a Sebenza?

How much better will the micarta inserts protect from this damage?

Your keys will definitely scratch the Ti handles, so you might want to keep your keys in a pocket separate from your Sebenza.

The micarta does not really scratch very much so where it is inlaid you wouldn't have to worry, but of course the rest of the Ti could still be scratched.

I have a Large Reg. Seb. But decided on a small 21 I just ordered
