A couple questions for Sebenza USERS...With the clip at the butt end, has anyone ever had any trouble with the blade coming part way open while in the pocket? I do prefer tip up carry, BTW. And, does the thumb stud hang up on the draw? I'm not experienced with the frame lock, and need to know how well it stacks up against the short comings of the liner lock.

I carry mine everyday and have never had the blade start to open upon pulling it from my pocket nor has the thumbstud ever snaged on my clothing. Not sure of the double thumbstud option though...?

Carried mine in the pocket for a month or so (can't remember exactly when I got it). I have not had any trouble. Lately, it's riding in one of G2's sheaths most of the time.

edit:
Carried it clipped to the pocket. Sounded like I meant I was carrying it loose in there.

I have a double thumbstud and it's logged quite a bit of time in my front pocket. Never ever has it even thought about coming open. I have carried in jeans, dockers, shorts of all kinds, and no problems to date.

As far as reliability, I would take this lock against the many liner locks I've owned. The frame is meaty, and there is virtually no allowance for failure as a good grip on the knife would only push the lock further over and never back off. The ratio of frame thickness to blade pivot thickness doesn't allow for slippage.

I am a frequent (daily) user, have been for a year now. So this is from a 'benza that has been through it's share of work.

Matter of fact, the part of the back of the blade between the thumbstud and the end of the handle that is exposed when closed is a great bottle top popper...

Lose the clip!

Put the small Sebenza in your pocket. Get a sheath from G2 for your large Sebenza. (Or get a sheath for both!)

The Sebenza is a great knife, but some people just find the pocket clip to be a nuisance... I am one of them!
