hey all,

well I tried to sell my small sebenza today the buyer never showed up & i got an email form him saying he is no longer interested. Being that this knife was free from the prize table at a USPSA competition, im going to be one of the daring and custom my own. Only problem is I dont know what to do

Any suggestions???

If anyone else was bold enough to custom this knife please post your knife & help me out

my problem is that is is such a well crafted knife, it is really hard for me to change it but for some reason I want to change it up

If any of you want to post some ideas of your own such as personal mods or even some sketches feel free i Highly encourage it :D

Without knowing your skill set or what te handles of the knife look like, I'd say go for some ornate file work on the spine and maybe some engravings on the handle.

There's not really a way to make functional mods to a sebenza, unless you're a skilled maker yourself.

looks like this

I am fairly skilled, and it will be more cosmetic than functional, like i said it is a well crafted knife, but it is too plain looking for my tastes

A professional, like Maprik, a forum member, will anodize it blue (both sides), and the clip. Blue sebbies look cool.

I wouldn't touch it myself, and can't think of a thing you could do to make it better.

Stone wash and anodize the lock side blue.
Make a custom scale for the presentation side.
Deep carry clip.
File work on spine.
Then add a really pretty lanyard.

So you need suggestions on how to ruin an otherwise perfect knife? Hmmm....

not destroy, give it character.

when i received it i forgot to ask for the authenticity papers, which BTW makes the 350.00 knife a 200.00 knife

thus MOD time

i did come across one guy a while back who had his large sabenza costumed with a US army design which i really liked, even if it was army :D.

I may sketch up a design for the Navy & add my own personal touches to it

if anyone has seen the army engraving & have a pic of it please post it up

Don't do file work, or touch the blade at all. If you really want to do something what about a custom scale, or anondizing.

You say its only worth $200 with no box, but its worth more than that. If you do work on the knife yourself it will be worth less.
I saw one in the CRK room that had a G-10 custom scale in Ranger green. He said someone wanted more of a Military look.
Check that one out. A custom scale won't hurt the value of the knife as long as you keep the original one.

Go for it! Anodizing and engraving are good basic modifications.
Obviously think carefully about a design before rushing into it!

thanks for the forward Ken, I'm not worried about resale. If i do end up changing it up it will be for me as a keep sake edc or as a pass off gift to a friend

Im not looking to Militarize it ( if i wanted military/tactical ill just whip out a ZT), I just remember seeing a cool army etched one that was elegantly done

I did this mod to my large 21. I ended up taking a little more off, around 3/100ths of an inch to get it where I liked it. If you're not that mechanically inclined, then I wouldn't try it. You could really mess up your knife.
