Sebenza detent hole question

Do any of the crk gurus know when crk started to use the complete hole through the blade for the detent on the sebenzas? Also would crk upgrade an older style detent hole to the newer detent for a fee?
 
The hole that goes all the way through is a recent change. Don't know when exactly, but I'm thinking last year or two max. Give them a call and ask about the "upgrade" that you want. I don't really think it would make a difference. I wouldn't send them the knife just for that. I would wait till it gets dull then send it in for a sharpening, the new perferated washers and the detent change though.
 
Are the newer ones (Dec. 2010 to be exact) shipped with the perforated washers?
 
I'll have to take mine apart when it needs a cleaning and lube up to check for myself. Thanks.
 
You should be able to see a little bit of the holes on the larger washer even without taking it apart. If you can't see it right away, try opening the blade a little, it'll pop up, atleast it does on all of my small sebs, not sure on the large I guess.
 
Yea, you can see that the washers are perforated on the Lg without taking the knife apart. The OP was asking about the detent hole that goes all the way through the blade.
 
i just tried, and YEP i can see them. I'm guessing that's a good thing (upgrade)?
