Sebenza has ruined my knife collecting hobby.

The last I heard from Scott, he was working on the palm swell for the small Lochsa. No release date yet.

The Lochsa is a framelock knife made by Scott Cook. It is unique in the fact that the frame is milled from a single piece of titanuim. Scott used to work for CRK but decided to stike out on his own and start his own custom knife shop. He does really nice work. Currently the Lochsa only comes in one size (similar to a large Sebenza) and apparently he is working on a smaller version. They are relatively rare due to the fact that they take a lot of work to make and they are very popular. I am lucky enough to have a left hand Lochsa. It is very nice. But my Sebenzas are very nice also and they are by far my favorite semi-custom knife. Technically they are production knives but I consider them to be semi-custom because their fit and finish are better than most customs and Chris is passionate about the quality that his shop puts out.

I have two custom folders by Jeff Angelo that are milled from a single piece of titanium' however they are not milled as a integral lock. Instead they have a classic liner lock. I would really like to see a pic of the lochsa.

Dog, thanks for the site. Now the ocd (obsessive compulsive disorder)
starts all over again over another knife!! Although I must say it has a strong resemblance to CRK.

This problem must affect all Sebenza owners. I know that for at least a year or more I just didn't have any interest in any other folders. However, I got over the, "why buy anything else when you have a Sebenza" ailment. I realized that there isn't any other folder that I trust as much as the Sebenza but there are others that I enjoy owning, handling and carrying, nothing taken away from the Sebbi. Got to say when most non knife people look at the Sebenza and find out how much I paid for it they think I am crazy. Most non knife people equate quality and high value with pretty.

A perfect example. Today I decided to grab something different so I pulled a few of my Lightfoot models and thought no, then i looked at a few of my De Villiers models and thought the same thing and on and on again ( including Mazitelli, Brad Duncan, Terzuola and more).
Todays pick a CRK woody with buckeye burl in one pocket and a ebony inlay in the other.

surely you guys didn't buy your sebz based on pictures.. i haven't handled one & played with it; maybe that's where the infatuation starts?!

i'm holding out for chris to make a more visceral/aggressive/predatory looking sebenza. not to make anyone all huffy, but if i wanted to pay (relatively) big bucks for a well-fitted minimalist design, i'd have the ghost of elvis sign my box cutter.

^^whoo-weee! someone's gonna get mad at that!! hahaa.. i'm not 100% serious guys. i just really wish the seb had more shape aesthetics and "soul" to match its apparently impeccable manufacturing quality. i see it has potential -- it's just not fulfilled from my vantage point. i like the mnandi's looks, but it's too small. just combine the elements of the sebenza & the mnandi, and i might become a follower.

A tactical Sebenza won't happen. I think Tony hit the nail on the head. You'll be hard pressed to find a better knife than the Sebenza.
