Sebenza Inlays - Attached to surface or inside milled recess in handles?

Are the Classic and Annual Limited Wood inlays just attached to the flat surface of the standard handles, or are recesses milled, and then the inlays are laid into the recess?

Yeah, they do look that way to me on the Classic Sebenza, but not so for the Limited Annual Sebenza's and of course the Mnandi's. The fact that they look like they are taped onto the surface is a testament to the extremely tight tolerances.

At first I didn't really like the Mnandi, until I check one out in person. Of course, now I want a Mnandi instead. I prefer the feel of the Mnandi in my hand moreso than any of the Sebenza's.
