Sebenza Lanyards

I took the lanyard off five minutes after I received my large regular.

I flipped the bolts the following day. I agree, it looks much better.

The grip extension point is interesting. Has that come in handy in situations?

For me it is indispensable in folders or fixed blades with short handles.

For example my CRKT Carson F4 has a short handle and the lanyard acts as a great grip extension giving me something for my ring and pinky finger to hold on to. This really only works for knives of that size and the meat of the lanyard has to be pretty close to the handle.

To keep this on topic though,

what is this about flipping the bolts? I've never heard of this before.

The other side of the bolt is pretty so people like to flip it. I think it's silly.

Here are some bolts that have been reversed. IMHO it just gives the knife a cleaner look.

I removed the CRK lanyard and started using the cord ends from CountyComm on a small loop of 550 cord. I'm always changing it up depending on what I'm wearing and where I'm going. When I wear dress slacks I like it lanyard-less (it's a little more low-profile), but almost any other time I prefer the lanyard. Plus, the cord ends let me change lanyard colors to match my outfit. :D

Carried my large for a while with the lanyard on. I just took it off the other day after owning it for a few months and I do like it better without.

I like the bolts the standard way, with the hex slots on the front side. It adds a little more visual interest to me. The smooth side is boring to look at.

i took the original lanyard off, and replaced it with a bit of old paracord- just because i could really.

on the flip/not flip debate- i flip the two at each end and leave the one in the stop pin hole, best of both worlds

I put on a braided piece of soft leather with a bead attached
and yes, I'm a flipper ;)

To me it looks 'more' finished that way;

I keep the lanyard and flip the screws. They look so much better. By the way, Gary, nice lanyard. Was it done by you?

Thanks Kemo Sabe, and yes, the leather has two slits on each side and you
alternate as you put the leather through the slits ending up with what you
see above.

For the bead to remain on there, I cut a small wedge of leather and glue that
between the two pieces of leather and the bead can't slide off, makes for a
nice look and works well to retrieve the knife.

I have only been carrying my knife about a week. (Small classic) I prefer to not flip the bolts. Part of what I like about this knife is that it is designed for easy maintenance. Seeing those bolt heads reminds me

I have never used a lanyard before. I am finding with the small that it really gives a secure and easy draw from the pocket.
