Sebenza love

TKC, I know exactly what you mean. I have not owned any custom folders, but have handled a couple. While they are nice, they cannot compare to my Sebs. I have gotten rid of most of my other folders, but the Sebs remain. I wish I would have done this sooner.

Keeping them locked in a safe is abuse. Take them out and use them!

Hi T.K.C...

I agree 100% about Sebenzas being all that I want in a knife. My small regular is in my pocket now as my work EDC. I recently got the small micarta I needed to make a matched pair with my large micarta.

And yesterday... yesterday, there came in the post, a small blue dog paw Sebbie that I got in a great deal with a lady in AZ (thanks again, Azshaman) to make a matched pair with my large blue dog paw Sebbie. My wife still EDCs her silver dog paw Sebbie. We have all of our dogs' identity disks that they've worn on their collars attached to the lanyards.

Ya know... I looked at a lot of customs at Blade this year... and I couldn't find anything that I wanted to carry more than the Sebbie I had with me.

My perfect EDCs. Plain Jain Bg-42s with bead blasted hardware.

And... the old school clips add a cool retro style I love.

Small regular sebenza for me. It really is a versitile folder. I carry it so much that my raw levis have a clear outline of it on the pocket area.

Did someone mention "old school clips":D

I bought this ATS-34 bladed Small Sebenza in Feb. of '96 and had carried it pretty much daily until earlier this year when I entered it into semi-retirement. Sure I "cheated" every now and then (who doesn't?;)) with other factory knives as well as quite a few big name custom makers' offerings but the affairs were always brief and I always ended up going back to the humble Sebenza. The only reason I stopped carrying it was because it had developed some sentimental attachment and I decided to "replace" it with first, a Small Standard Model and then, a Small Classic Micarta Model. There was only one problem - none of these other knives were MY Sebenza! So, long story short, it's back in my pocket where it belongs (well, at least until a Small Sebenza 21 arrives...:o).

Here are a couple more pics - please excuse the poor photography, I just snapped these really quickly while I was sitting in bed reading this thread:

That is not merely one of the oldest and used sebenzas I have ever seen, but it also represents what a knife is all about for me....sentimentality (through use)

^^ I suppose that's why I have so much trouble keeping it put away - we've been through a lot together! All in all, not a bad investment for approximately $.07 a day; I'd say that I definately got my money's worth :D.

That must be the oldest receipt anyone owns.

Funny thing is that I didn't even realize that I still had the receipt until I dug the box out of "The Drawer" for these pics. Also, I know that I didn't buy the sheath as I never use 'em and I can't remember if models with pocket clips came with them or if maybe the guy threw it in when I bought the knife.

I have a small regular, with silver thumb studs on it's way. It should be here today. I thought I should get a regular whilst I still can!!

I have my small blue Dog Paws on me.

A new one showed up in the mail today, A large 21 with Night Sky handle and blue Paua inlay. Only the second CRK I own, the other being a small regular Web-Sight silver contrast. Love them both, the Night Sky is something else though!

I recently bought used Sebenza because the price was OK and I wanted to handle it and sell it after that. Well after few weeks of cariyng it I think it will be not so easy to let it go... It definitely has personality!

Well I love my large classic with cocobolo inlays. It's the one I have in my pocket almost always.

I love the classic with wood inlays so much I have two brand new back ups stored away just in case :D

Unless I some how lose my user Sebbie, I doubt I will ever need my two back ups, but that's OK because they will then go to my two sons
