Sebenza means work

Garage Boy, I think I'll start a home for scratched Sebenzas. I know how to use them and sharpen them ,so they'll be treated properly.!! a223cat can send me his for a start .

yes thats one option! The other might be to just have it resharpened and enjoy it! or I could send it back for a beauty session.

After you put that first knick or ding in the blade, it gets easier to use. I found that out the hard way. Just buy a few more for back up. That's what I tell my wife anyway.

Use it! I have no pity for knives that sit unused. That's like having a supermodel around and never taking her picture. Why have something around just to fill up space in your house?

oh I do use it and carry it daily. I just hate that I scratched the blade with that damn diamond stick sharpener. PO's me every time I look at it.

Use a different sharpener and your troubles will disappear. I too have seen Russ's knife at Plaza and Scott Dog has it right about the use that knife gets! You only live once. Buy the best and use it. A couple of nicks and dings only add to the history of the knife.

Ive emailed with Heather and will send it in for a blade polish or tumble and polish and regrind of the edge.

I will continue to carry it and will forget the diamond hone.

I agree with METE. It hurts me more to leave my knife sitting in a safe than it does to just use it, come what may. I have a unique graphics Sebenza that has some big scratches torn into the handle. I wanted to cry but then realized that it is a tool and meant to be used. Nothing that a margarita or eight won't cure.

corvus, i was wondering about your handle, is that some sort of bird reference or something?

Corvus Brachyrhynchos is the Latin Genus and Species name of the American Crow. It means short billed Raven. But more importantly, I like knives. I really like Chris Reeves and own a Sebenza that I use and has not failed me yet.

Most of my Sebenzas have scratches galore. Who cares? I don't own any safe queens. The only (minor) exception is a nice graphic model that I try to keep fairly pristine. The rest of 'em get used and abused.

I like that, "You only live once, buy the best and use it"

That should be on their web site.

Dropped my new Small Classic African Blackwood Sebenza on my ceramic tiled kitchen floor yesterday. It landed perfectly on it's tip, flattening it.Took the burr off with my sharpmaker, good as new.

Pheww,....feels good to unload that "first scratch anxiety" I was feeling.:)I bought it to be a user and now it's official.

First scratch happened to me this week.

Basically scuffed the clip against the wall or door while it was clipped in my pocket.

The great thing about titanium is it oxidizes so the scuff has aready blended in for the most part

No biggie, looking forward to many more scratches in the years to come.
