Sebenza or Starbenza

How did you get a starbenza insingo?

Yeah, I had to buy both knives to get it.

The plain scales and Starbenza blade are sitting in the box in my cupboard untouched.

They won't do a Spa treatment on it unless I swap the blades back either.

So that would be double hit as well.

Seems crazy to send a blade and set of scales both factory fresh for a spa treatment.
But I do understand why.

Ironically I'd love double silver studs on the Insingo blade too!

I have a Starbenza, it is my one and only CRK knife, but I am not sure I would buy one again. I am liking the plain jane version a lot.
I would't spend the extra money for a Starbenza.

Haven't had a Starbenza yet but have had my eye on it for months. The only draw back is none have an insingo blade. I love my small Seb insingo but love the scale pattern on the starbenza.

Saw someone post a pic the other day where they sent their plain Jane in to CRK and had a pattern put on the scale. Looked pretty nice. Might consider that and get the best of both worlds.

Hmmm....I was under the impression CRK won't do any modifications to pre-existing knives and any custom work would have to be done to a whole knife (new purchase). Is this incorrect or did they modify their policy?

My question exactly.

On the other hand as far as I knew from talking with CRK a few months ago, a new blade could be ordered and fitted for a pre-existing knife, for example an insigno blade for the Large 21 albeit a WC version or other.

I am also one that has to go against the grain.

I LOVE my plain small Sebenza 21 and love the simplistic look of it.

Dont get me wrong, I like the Starbenza as well but overall I like the stock Sebenza the best.

I asked them if I could buy a new Insingo blade to instead of sending my blade from Australia for a Spa Treatment.
This would save me the freight and my blade is pretty beat up anyway.

They said I couldn't buy a replacement blade.
I would have to order a whole knife complete if I wanted a new blade.

I've owned multiples of both plain janes and starbenzas. Both are absolutely great. When it comes down to it though, I prefer the simplicity of the plain jane.
