Sebenza owners, do you edc them? And can I get it engraved?

1) Absolutely. I don't own any knives I don't mind using. HARD.

2) I don't see why not. I'd give Chris and Anne a call and see what they'd do for you.

I have just the basic regular Sebenza (only one for now) and I do EDC it. I figured I bought it; I can't enjoy it if I won't use it for what it was meant to do.

I have this scenario in my head:
Should I live to be an old man, I still have my trusty Seb at my side; scraped and scruffed and resharpened many times, I have 'bonded' with it in a way I couldn't have had I not used it. Sounds kinda corny, but it's great when I see a guy who pulls out a trusty, well-worn knife for a cutting task like reaching for an old friend.

I completely know what you are talking about. Thats the exact reason I bought my Sebenza... I wanted something that I could consider "the" knife I have been searching for. I am just skeptical if its possible for a modern day item to last so long.

I only recently stopped using mine. Loosening screw was getting annoying.

I might start carrying my small Seb again. That knife never ever did that.

I just read about that today. Whats the story with that? One person claimed it went away once it was fully broken in though.

I had a 2004 annual edition that did with all three screws. Sent it in twice to get that resolved. I now have a large classic that does the same but only with the stop pin screw.

It once came loose on me while I was out (no allen wrench). After that I stopped carrying it. That was actually only about two weeks ago.

My large classic micarta gets used whenever I have an excuse, probably too often to be polite but for anything from removing a thread from a suit to "helping" in the garden (this week). It has become my excuse to use a knife. Cuts well, not scarey, in the UK it is nevertheless illegal to carry WITHOUT GOOD REASON. If I can justify its use to the police if they are called to apprehend me (for burgularies they send a civilian round in a few days) then no problem. It is a nice tool that does its job well and has a certain style .

Applejacks,

I got a website logo engraved on mine! If I can do the takedown/ cleanup ANYONE can!

I just had the stop pin screw on my large Sebbie come loose. I hope it does not become a problem. Wonder if new screws would help...gonna check mine every couple of days from now on, though.

I've carried and used my small regular almost every day since I got it more than 2 years ago. I've reprofiled the blade, and the handles are all scratched up and marked with gold streaks from my rings. It adds character. ;) Every once in a while I'll carry another knife for a day or two but end up going back to the Seb.

I've never looked into engraving.

I carry and use my sebbie every day.
I have it in a leather slip-pouch during the workday, and IWB at night and weekends. Last night it hacked through painfully and stupidly thick and hard plastic packaging for a few hours. 30 seconds on the sharpmaker and it is as sharp as new (well, sharper, as I have reprofiled slightly).

Thanks everyone for the replies.

The thing about the loose screw is a bit worry some. I haven't even received my Sebenza yet, and I already have a bit of worry.
