I look for the answer for my question but had not seen any threads with my answer. I recently purchased a small Sebenza 21 that had its pocket clip replaced with a filler tab. My question is do the pocket clips work as an over travel stop and do I need to be concerned with that? I ordered a new pocket clip but I kinda like the look with out it. What do you guys think?

its fine without, I carry my small that way and so do many others. No overtravel on the Sebenza.

I knew about not having an overtravel stop but wasn't sure if the pocket clip was designed to kind of work as one, as it lays right on the lock bar

While it might slightly strengthen the lockbar it does not act as an overtravel stop.

The pocket serves no other purpose than being a pocket clip.
If you like it clipless, then that's the way you should carry it.
A lot of folks carry without a clip.

My only gripe with clipless is how high that screw sticks out in comparison to the body screws. But I may carry it like that in a CRK pouch for awhile with the lanyard. Never carried like that before so it'll be something new.

As many times as I've caught my CRK 21 clip and bent it, I wouldn't make too strong of an over-travel protection ;)

I have lost one good clipless knife in my time...was specially ground multi-blade for my work. From that time on, no more clipless for me. Thank God it was NOT a Sebbie that I lost...I'd still be crying.

It is sort of an "over travel stop" and also keeps pressure on the lock-bar, but in no way would I consider it anywhere near essential to the operation of the knife.

That said, I personally prefer clips because I have enough stuff in my pockets....all comes down to personal preference...

Alright thank you for the insight. I just have never had a knife without a pocket clip and now scared to lose it! I just ordered one today from CRK (very nice on the phone) and we shall see once I receive it I guess. I also got the pouch so I may switch it up every now and then.

That screw does stick out pretty far. Kind of odd.
