Well, if you drop it in the sand or dirt (as I have mine), the action of opening an closing can feel gritty. Nothing that has ever effecte the lock function as I have seen happen with lockbacks and axis lock knives in mud though. The beauty of the design is that the Sebenza is simple to disassemble, clean lubricate, and you are back in business. Pair that with top notch support and customer service- when your knife gets really beat up, you can send it back to CRK for a refurb and it will be like new again. Heck, you can even send it it just for sharpening.
