There should be a date stamp on the inside of the scales at the clip end of the knife. You can tell if the blade is S30V if there is an "S" stamped into the tang of the knife. You will need to remove the blade from the handle to see it. If there is no "S" the blade might be BG42.
Also, the date is coded by quarter-of-the-year and by year. For example, A 09 = First quarter (Jan, Feb, or Mar) of 2009; B 10 = second quarter (Apr, May, or Jun) of 2010, and so on.

FWIW, the date stamp on the inside of the handles indicates the period when the handles were finished, not the date of the final assembly of the knife. Typically, the "born-on" date trails the date stamp on the handles by a few months.
