Sebenza Rope Cutting Test

In addition to the comments so far, that test was done before CRK bumped the hardness up.

And since no one seems to complain about Spyderco's heat treatment -

I saw this a while back and also enjoyed it. Made me take a second look at my 25! I didn’t know it was a slayer of rope.

Jdavis was a full blown nut job who kept it well controlled sometimes; he flamed out and was booted off this forum. I personally feel his videos were contrived and probably faked. He had a great need to be recognixed. He was also like a slick preacher who cherry picked women out of the choir.

If I remember that video correctly Steve was actually shocked at how well the 25 did due to the edge geometry and supposedly soft heat treat. The last time he and I talked he was mainly carrying a 21 which did surprise me because he's "Super Steel Steve" and he tests steels that are "better" all the time. He simply replied - CRK always hits the high end of their heat treat and it just works.

Great video.
I like his style.
I gotta admit his results were surprising, but I'm happy they turned out that way.
Thanks for posting.

Yep, I like that he's a guy just trying to share some knowledge/results and not pimp products. My time on knife related content on youtube has seriously gone down due to the "influencer" vibe that seems to be taking over.

i don't have a 25 but I wouldn't mind owning that piece of CRK history.

I agree. The glory days of YouTube as an impartial space are truly over. Instagram is just a bunch of shills selling you product as well. Not sure it was ever anything else.

In both cases, these “influencers” (aka “partners” / aka “collaborators” / aka “brand ambassadors” / aka “I’m being paid to BS you while I build my following”) yap on about knives that show zero evidence of use or carry. I don’t trust any of these posers.

One reason I like this forum, is that I know a lot of the people here pre-date the present era of fraudulent reviews, and actually use their knives and share honest opinions that are not about “growing their channel”.

Rant over. Thanks for listening.

Rant or not it's all true. Nothing is worse than clicking a youtube video to see the following:
