Sebenza single or double thumblug?

 :D Josh, you're going to have to explain that to me. :p

Jus' kiddin'... ;)
John

From a functionality standpoint the second lug is really not needed. I can open it with my right or left hand if I had to in a pinch, the double (in my mind) is only there for aesthetic appeal. The odd thing is the more I look at the single lug the more aesthetically pleasing I find it. The purpose driven design that retains functionality while not doing anything "just because."

I prefer the looks of the double lugs, but have really never "needed" them. Having them has never been a determining factor when buying a Seb for me. I did once have CR add them to a knife I sent in for some other work, just because it was already there, but I don't think I'd send a knife in just for that addition.

I have never had a double lug but I think aesthetically it looks nicer and more symmetrical.
I would like to give it a try and as a matter of fact I need to send a large Sebenza in for some work and will have them installed.

I ordered my large Micarta Seb with spiro damascus blade with dbl thumblugs,,,never had a seb with dbl blugs.I do have a Hinderer which come with dbl thumblugs and although 99.9% of the time i wont use the one thumblug i do think it looks better and more symetrical. It probaly would bring a little better resale if you ever were to sell it with the dbl thumblugs.

Single on the Classic (double catches on my pocket). Double on the old Large Regular (the Double has an extra cut-out that I like). Don't own the 21 but would probably prefer Single. The Triple Lug is nice too. (kidding :D)

I guess I would prefer double-studs as I think thet are more aesthetically pleasing; but I rarely use but one; albeit most of my folders are Spyderco's which have 0 thumb-studs. But, on my Large Sebbie, I want two.

I like the double on my large Sebenza. But I removed the clip and just drop it in my pocket. The double stud just makes it more fun to play around with it while driving (I know you all do this).

My Sebs (currently four) were either re-lugged with doubles by CRK or purchased that way. In part, for the reason above, but also because IMHO the knives just look better, more symmetrical. Not a big deal, but that's my preference.
:) now only if there would be a lock on both sides too :D
