Sebenza stop pin anti-lint grooves? Please explain the science?

So do these "lint prevention flutes" stop lint from forming on the blade tang as well ? Please cast your minds over this, even if just for a moment......

Knowing how Chris works, I'll bet the groves do have a purpose. I just don't know what it is.

I don't know why the stop pins with groves were used but it appears that they were only used for a relatively short time.. I don't have any later production knives (Sebenzas) but I believe they first appear in 2011 and disappear in late 2012 or early 2013 depending on the model. My Small Sebenza 2011 edition had them. The dates may be a little off and if so I stand corrected.:)

I have had many sebenzas and read all I can on them and have never remembered reading such a thing, that the grooves are there to keep lint out. Pocket lint always get into framelocks, I just pick it out when I notice it there is all. But as for specific machining in the blade stop pin to keep it out.....? I know of no such thing.

I remember seeing them on a Wilson Combat collab first then on some of the inlays. Either way I like them and think it is a nice touch and hope it continues.

Well, there you have it.

I am skeptical about how effective the grooves would be, but that from the man himself.
