Sebenza/Strider/Hinderer vs Spyderco Para 2

Get yourself a Bucklite Max and see what happens.
I love my expensive folders but this $20. folder does all I ask it to do, for "normal" EDC knife use.

Unique lock, blade shape and of course the full flat grind. Not really. That's usually what I dish out money for; interesting or strong locks, and/or more practical, better slicing blades. I'll be grabbing the Tatanka at some point personally. However, I carry an Avispa every single day while leaving my more expensive knives at the house. It has yet to get dull enough in a full day of cutting for me to justify buying any more expensive, less efficient knives.

Performance wise, there is no reason to pay more for designs that function as expensive bricks. In terms of collecting, bragging rights, or OCD issues over components and workings of a knife(we all have em), then sure.

Well yeah, if that's what you find interesting about knives, that's great. Some people like the craftsmanship that goes into the higher dollar knives.

But going by the terms the OP set out, there's no practical reason to own a PM2 over a s30v Blur. The pm2 may slice a little better, the Blur may have a stronger tip but they are still very comparable.

If full flat grinds and slicing are your main requirements, I can reccomend several knives that are significantly cheaper than the PM2.

Again, the point is its all relative, not trying to hate on the pm2 (its the only Spyderco I ever purchased that I really liked).

That's what I was saying. The Avispa outperforms all the more expensive knives I've owned, at less than $30. My PM2 has been in a drawer, and I sold nearly everything I had in folders except that and a Gayle Bradley. I don't see how it is all relative when you're talking about a 300% or more price increase for aesthetics. I do say to each their own, and I agree that everyone likes different things.
