does anybody know how the thumbstud is atached to the blade is it screwed or ......:D
thanks

...which is related to at least some of the issues over time with cracked blades... :( I am trying to remember whether glue is also mentioned on the CRK DVD? I don't remember.

the tiniest variance in size of the thumbstud and the space its going into could result in a cracked blade. it doesnt happen very often.

only cases i've seen/heard of is people sending their knives in to have the thumbstuds replaced.

I also haven't seen any other blades crack than the BG-42 blades, I have never heard of it happening to any S30V blades as yet. The blade cracking above the thumb stud is a small chance as the Ti stud is softer than the blade and does "give a little", that's one reason the press fit works. They do say they use loc-tite during the fitting as well on the DVD.
