Hey guys, new member here!

Not sure if I should be putting this topic in this forum, if not, please remove it and let me know where I should put it.

After recently having my knife collecting fever re-lit, I've been trying to decide whether to get the Bradley Alias II vs. the wonderful Sebenza.

I guess my main questions are if the increase in cost is worth it, and if there are any principle differences other than branding?

Thanks in advance!

This is a Chris Reeve forum. It's pretty obvious what your answer is going to be here.

Actually went back to the large. Small is perfectly fine but I've got fat hands.

You mentioned in the video that the larger one was too hard to carry, do you still find that to be an issue or is it something that you've gotten used to?

I don't mean it was difficult to carry. It just felt bigger than I was used to. In the end I felt that the comfort on the large in my hand made up for the slight discomfort of taking up more space in my pocket. The large feels great but I also have a smaller Spyderco Caly 3 for when I don't want to carry a larger folding knife.

You probably would be better off asking this question in a new thread over in the General Knife Discussion Forum.

the bradleys are very nice. very smooth and fit/finish on the ones i have handled has been very good as well.

if price is a significant factor, there's nothing wrong with the alias. but if the sebenza is truly what you want, i think you will find it is worth the difference in price.

I concur :D the Bradley's are excellent, and basically made by Benchmade. They're to Benchmade what Lexus is to Toyota. A very nice product ;). However. It's not a Sebenza. It won't outlast a Sebenza or stay as smooth as it is for as long. The washers aren't phosphor washers and I don't believe the ti bar (at the contact point) is hardened like it is with the Sebenza. Which keeps wear minimal. Also, I think the pivot is larger on the Sebenza. Of course the tolerances are tighter as well.

I have the Alias 1 with the G-10 slab and it's an awesome knife, but I usually reach for a Benchmade or a Sebenza before I reach for IT for some reason. I like it though, it's a great knife. I really like the blade shape of the sebenza a lot more though.

I've seen it said somewhere that parts of the Alias were "Just like the Sebenza". I've never seen where parts of the Sebenza were "Just like the alias"!

No. The Sebenza is not worth the extra money. Now go away and leave all them sebbies to us!:p

Serious now: I wouldn't know. I haven't held a Bradley before. I do own 2 Sebbies, and they are very nice!

Kind regards,

Jos
