Sebenza wharncliff..

There aren't many independent makers that would tackle making a blade for a Sebenza--I know, cause I looked a looooong time a couple years ago for someone that could make me one. Anyone remember this knife and blade? This might be as close to a wharncliffe that I could get--CPM-3V

Reese made it.

Barry, I love the look of that!

But The blade doesnt look like wharncliffe...is it?

Pardon my ignorance, but why do you think that was the case with the independent makers? This type of knife request is something that has interested me but I haven't done any serious looking.

Well, technically, no, it isn't. But it is as close to having a straight edge as I could get Reese to do. Actually, I had forwarded a pic of the tanto Sebenza to Reese. I had really wanted a reverse tanto in the same profile of the Regular Reeve tanto Sebenza (which would have been damn close to a wharncliffe). What you see is what I got;)

I would guess that most makers want to be associated with their own designs. Look at Matt Cucchiara and Tom Mayo, for example. At one time many years ago, both were pimping Sebenzas. Now look at them, both are excellent makers, doing nothing but their own thing.

You cannot ask for a better guy to do the work than Reese. He is an extremely talented guy whose ability to work with framelocks in particular is second to none. Good lookin' job!
