Sebenza?

I'm in the process of deciding on a small Sebenza or Umfaan. I saw both at the SHOT show in '99 and was very impressed with their quality. Are the standard (plain) Sebenza and Umfaan blades "stonewashed"?

JB

Welcome to the forums, JB!!

Congratualtions on your first post!

My Classic Sebenzas have stone washed blades as do two of my Umfaans (first year plain circle and millennium). My blue circle Umfaan has a blade that is polished except for the flats. I'll bet the first 50 Umfaans with blue to gold circles have the same type blade as the blue circles. All the Umfaan blades have double thumb studs.

JB,
Welcome to the forums. You can special order plain models with the hollow grind section satin finished. A few dealers carry them like this too.

Chris Reeve Knives does one of the nicest satin finishes around. If you are looking for a user though, I would recommend sticking with the stone washed finish. It hides scratches really well. The CRK website has all the details for Sebenza options (satin finish, blade swedge, double thum studs, etc.).
