Kinda just rolls off the tongue doesn't it? lol. Anyway, I was just wondering what kind of customizing can be done on a sebenza, and how much extra it usually runs. I'm putting away a little bit each time I get paid, with hopes of owning my own little "gray turd"

I would contact Chris Reeve directly when you get ready to order. www.chrisreeve.com

I'm not sure, but I think he will arrange to do whatever you want. You will have to discuss the cost with him or Anne.

Bite the bullet and go for a wood inlay model. I picked one up at the Blade Show with ironwood and have been totally satisfied. I have carried it ever since. The wood sticks out from the handles just enough to add to the grip and make it more comforting. If you are going to buy one USE IT! You can't take it with you.

BTW I traded for another large that came from the factory with a satin blade instead of the stonewash and had dual thumb studs instead of the normal one. Really improves the looks.

It will cost you about $100 to get a custom computer graphic on your Sebenza. I think one of their stock designs is a bit less. You will have to send your knive to them because they fit the handle to each knife.

I'd second the suggestion for the Woodie though. I considered what I wanted to do and have decided to save up for one.

I'm kinda partial to the plain grey handles myself. CRK has several in house handle designs to choose from.

It was me who is planning to get a Plain Small Sebenza modified a little. I'm going to get what is known as the "Silver Contrast". It costs $55.00 + S&H. It is an engraving on one slab. I believe all the computer designs are offered for the silver contrast. I chose the "Solar Wind" offering. Bridget called it "stunning".

Yikes. Just looked at the website. Looks like I'm going to be saving up for quite a while. I hate being a poor college student. Sigh. Oh well, it certainly looks like you get what you pay for, especially from what I've heard from you guys. Course, his one piece range is more in my budget...hmmmm

You'll not be happy until you pick up a Sebenza, trust me. Start saving and it will be in sight before you know it. Cut out the pizza, don't buy textbooks as it is easier to copy the pages you need, go on a diet and only eat meals every other day, and NO BEER! Before long you will have a Sebenza. Whether you have the strength to open it is another matter!
