Hello, Sorry to hear that James Mattis is no longer with us. I met him at the Blade Show and he had great praise for Chris Reeve Knifes and particularly the Sebenza. I'm sure he will be missed by many. He was the proprietor of Chai Cutlery and because of his personality I'm sure was doing well with it. Again, sorry to hear of his passing. J.C.

What happened to James? I just talked to him at Blade Show West just last weekend. Seemed like a real nice guy. He would donate a portion of every knife he sold to charity. He will truly be missed by the knife community.

I am very sad to hear of James' passing. He was a true gentleman and I always looked forward to his frequent posts here and elsewhere on the forum.

The world is a little darker place tonight without him.

I purchased my small clasic 2000 from Jim Mattis less than 10 days ago! The small clasic will always stay with me, just like my brief friendship with Jim Mattis.
Words are terrible tools to express grief! My hugs, tears, and thoughts go out to his family.

I just returned from San Francisco and found out about James. It was a tremendous shock.

As Jonathan says, he was, truly, a nice guy. I will miss him.
