I think they are getting better. This one is hand forged D2 steel with canvas micarta scales. I'm not an "art knife" maker but I do love this forged look.

Looks good , forging a blade seems tricky. I feel as if I wouldn't be able to control the shape

If you see them getting better then you should be very pleased. Continue with your personal judging and continue to look for the good as well as the bad.the good will encourage you to do more and the bad will tell you what you need to work towards correcting. For some of us this can take a long time to find what we wanted when we started out.
