I liked my Web Specials Stag 405 so well, I ordered another one. It has quite a different look than the first one, not better or worse, just different. I think that's what's great about stag. You can have two of the same knives, but they will look different.

Different but both are very nice Dave. They look like they would be very comfortable in hand, and I like the blade shape

The 405 looks similar to the traditional German Hunting knife "Jagd Nicker",
also called "Hirschfänger" (elk catcher). It is the knife that is carried by the traditionalists
in Bavaria in their Leather trousers ("Lederhosen") I carried one (trousers and knife) in Coer d' Alene
last year too, when we had the bbq at Chuck and his family.

Best,
Haebbie

Those are very nice looking knives. All of them remind me of the Gaucho knives also.

Here's something I just noticed about these. The one's in the first pictures have the Buck/Bos ATS-34/U.S.A. on the tang done by laser etching. This one that I found a picture of has it stamped. The label on the boxes are identical except for the date. The stamped one is dated 05/19/2009 and the lasered ones are dated 05/20/2009.

Wonder why they changed? I remember either Joe or CJ mentioning that they were lasering the harder steels because they may crack if stamped on both sides, but these are marked only on one side.
