OK I finished up a second one today.I have had this one on the bench ready to finish since the doc said we had to start over with the treatments. After finishing the carved one I figured I should finish this one also. Now I will start on a couple of hunters setting on the bench. Here it is:
My version of a Michael Price working knife
blade is 5 7/8 inches long of forged 5160
handle is 4 1/4 inches long with a steel frame and pins and Elk antler scales
steel guard and a Nickel silver ferrule around the ricasso...
I aged this blade with some acid and that is why you see the funny lines as I just dropped the acis on in slatters then rubbed the blade back with 2000 grit paper, also the guard and frame. Then I went out and started chopping old oak and pine, then drove a few nails with the spine of the blade and the frame of the handle (I held the blade when using the handle as a hammer...Nice and aged and used looking....)

OK Any and all comments welcome.Even laugh at it if you want.My eyes will take awhile to straighten out still so it isnt my best I am just glad to be back in the shop..Sorry about the bad pics,I will work on them now also, just gotta get the eyes back...
Thanks for looking,
Bruce
