Second try,not a knife this time

Finally got around to my second attempt at making something at the forge since my first knife attempt was dubbed a fancy prison shank by my heathen friends.My son loves dinosaurs and after watching an archeologist using a rock hammer he had to have one.Started as a chunk of 1080 round stock and a broken mahogany table leg.Forged in charcoal,HT via torch and ATF and then afew cycles through Momma's oven.Seems to be holding up well.

Unfortunately,this is what happens when your child decides the foundation wall must harbor dinosaur bones !!! Luckily it's about 3 ft thick and the damage is not quite as bad as it may seem.But he won't be doing that again :eek:

On the bright side, it looks like your heat treat held up. :)

Haha! I'm not looking forward to that with my son! He's only 3 now.
