Second ZT 0780 has problems ....whats up with the QC????

There seems to be a lot of negative comments here on the 0780. Just for the record I picked up two and I
have no issues with either of them. My 0780's are #366 & #232. Some might think that they all lacking
in QC but not from the examples I have.

My two as I said were both good, my Dad's shouldn't have ever left the factory. They have it back now and I think they'll make it right.

I need to comment too .....I bought two and they both seem fine to me.
I liked them so much Ive ordered two more
There becoming my fav knife to carry so far , till something else new comes out ....LOL
In reality , if I had to complain about something here .......it would be that they werent real sharp , like the 0551 an 0560,s.
Iam a happy camper .......I hope my other two come in the same condition as these.

In general, I'm pretty darned happy with both of mine. Serial #0378 is pretty much perfect (no lock rock or blade play, butt jimping not too sharp, blade nice and sharp, but don't know how the scale alignment is as I haven't swapped the pocket clip on this one). Serial #0087 is good (no lock rock, blade well sharpened, no problem with scale alignment when swapping clip position), but the butt jimping is noticably sharper (not a problem to me), and it does have a tiny bit of vertical blade play (just enough to notice it if you muscle it). Overall, I'd have to say that I'm pretty satisfied (happy with the condition of both knives, and loving the design of the 0780 in general!). If I could afford it, I'd buy a few more for backups and gift giving.

Oh, and I do want to say that I'm not a "Kershaw/ZT fanboy" so to speak, but my experience with my 50+ Kershaws and 3 ZTs (so far!) and my experience with KAI customer service has definitly made me a Kershaw/ZT fan.

i think you should just leave the sandbox and go play someplace else, you are not being very nice. Geez, now i have to get all this sand out of my hair and off my face, hate it when angry kids are in the sandbox :d

if i can not come on a knife message board and tell peolpe the faults of the knives i've recieved and how to fix them...then what is the point of this site..why should i bother trying to help anyone...if you don't want negative comments....then don't let the knives leave the factory until you inspect them...remember the guy who use to test fruit of the looms...get him to work for ya my undies never have defects..and if your this sensitive about someones comment perhaps you should not be carrying a knife lol..btw love the 780 now that i fixed it..later ladies sorry to hurt your feelings

It isn't your negative comments, you have a right to say there are problems with a knife and many do. It is just that when someone comes in with the attitude you did, that get's people upset, you were not merely pointing out issues , you were being very mean about it. A little tact goes a long way and can prevent a lot of bad feelings. I don't work for Kershaw by the way, just love their products.

I thought i brought that to his attention in the begining, obviously he didn't read it.

did you take pics of these problems?? Not doubting your word , but pics do help your case a lot...

I got mine from Canada as well, #0041, and I can't find a thing wrong with it.
Very happy.

Help his case....please. He came up here stating how he felt.....he did nothing wrong, he paid good money, I'd be the same way. I do notice that people up in this sub forum gets a chapped azz real quick if they say anything less then zt or kershaw is the greatest.

why should i bother trying to help anyone.....

How exactly is this "trying to help anyone":

and if you can read i'm not the only one with these problems..............

you guys at ZT need to take some notes from the guys at Spyderco...there the QC is impeccable...

later ladies sorry to hurt your feelings

Oh yes, everyone is very much helped by unfunny quips and a plethora of periods. You're a real asset.

Want to help? Throw up some pictures of possible fixes for issues that others may have and back up your attitude-ridden complaints.

Yesterday I received a second hand 0780 that had the same clip screw alignment problem. I printed out the warranty form today and after reading this thread I decided to try adjusting the scales myself. Guess what........it worked! I love my new 0780, and it's my first ZT! It might be my gateway ZT.

While all opinions (good or bad) are welcome, we do expect all posts to have a level of respect, mbjz didn't, your thumbz up didn't.

You come all strong without respect, expect push back from a bunch, including me. Get it?

My two cents, for what they are worth. This is a sub forum where individuals come and talk about Kershaw/ZT knives, usually what they like about them, new products coming out, etc. If you start out with "whats up with the QC" you will already have people wanting to defend the knives they love even before they open your post. We all want to hear about any potential issues and help each other correct them, but straight out complaing will never go over well here. That is unfortunate that you received two knives you were not satisified with, but Kershaw's customer service is the best around. I am sure they will fix whatever problem that may arrise. I just received a 0780 the other day and see no issues with the knife, but I know that sometimes a bad egg can get through. I hope you get the knife fixed and are able to enjoy it as I am with mine. Please dont take this as a shot towards the OP, just stating my obervations.

Okay, so he has a low post count (yes, so do I), is belligerent, recalcitrant, rude, and refuses to take advice... It's official folks, he's a puppet sent by the evil troll factory.
