After striving for perfection all these years, I've purposely tried to make a second, and I've achieved my goal. For your consideration is this EDC in stabilized spalted hackberry/G-2/W-2. There was a lot of hand fitting where the G-10 bolsters mates with the spalted hackberry.....it was perfection before glue up. Then I inletted a small chip in the wood and repaired it with black epoxy - yes - success towards achieving my goal. After hand rubbing to 1200 grit and etching, a small, almost imperceptible imperfection in the steel was exposed that I chose not to sand out - again, my goal was met. Finally, I chose not to drive the micarta pin all the way through the bolsters and filled the void with black epoxy - again, success. The sheath follows the same theme with a small imperfection in the leather on the show side - man, I'm hitting on all cylinders now.
The only problem with these issues is that one has to point them out to the casual observer because they are so unobtrusive.
Now, the beauty of it all - if this was a perfect knife, I'd charge $280 delivered, but now, because I've met all my goals for this knife, I am asking $180 delivered. Jackpot! I hope you like it! PayPal preferred to tsteingass@yahoo.com. Thanks for viewing and all comments are welcome.
