Just saying my farewells as I'm off on a buisness trip to the Carribbean.
I'll be in Trinidad from Mon-Fri, St. Lucia Sat. - Wed. and Jamaica Thurs-Sat. Going to attend a workshop and then do some some site visits for a bunch of labs. Hopefully I'll get a little bit of walking, scenery and swimming to enjoy while I'm there.

So what knives am I bringing - None :eek::eek:
I just have way too many airplane island hops through this trip and will be with colleagues so I need to keep all my bagage as carry-on. I do have a first aid kit/PSK with the following items:

Non-prescription drugs - Imodium, gravol, antihistimine
Water treatment tablets - chlorine dioxide
First aid kit (minus scalpel and tweezers)
Firesteel and piece of fatwood (scraper will have to be improvised)
Paracord - 10'
Electrical tape
Compass/whistle
Mini-maglite

I'll keep my eye out for a machete in Jamaica and will take lots of pictures!

Even though its a business trip, sounds like a nice one :D

Have a good time.

aaahh man.. i would be bummed to have to go to the carribean on a buisness trip...:D our friend use to work for a travel agency and she used to go to the carribean all the time...

have a good time...

Good luck kgd.

I may be wrong, but I thought I heard that firesteels are not allowed in carry-on. I don't know for certain as I don't fly often.

Regardless, have a good trip.

I've slipped them by security in the past. If I lose it though no biggie, I'll probably just pick up a bic on site and toss it when I island hop again. I'm sure I'll be able to find something to cut with in Trinidad as I'll be there a week.

Thanks for the bon voyage notes guys. All packed now.

KGD,

Have a great trip... The last company I worked for owned a bauxite refinery on St. Croix, I used have to go there about once a month. I loved the place. but some areas were very rough. Make sure you are aware of your surroundings. Drink some rum (the Painkiller is a great drink!).

Mail service is your friend for knives you like or other things you dont wanna carry back home and enjoy your trip and be sure to take scenery pics/interesting stuff while checking out local attractions, and any new knives you end up with
