Hey guys, Ive long been into "tactical" folders, but since ive been working on some leather lanyards ive gotten the traditional bug. My biggest challenge has been finding nice ones with lanyard holes or rings. I saw a GEC pattern 72 i believe but cant find one for sale. Some models of the Case Backpocket are the exact shape i want, but dont see a handle i love. Im hoping for a darker toned bone or stag handle. Here's the Case thats just about perfect in terms of shape/pattern. Im ordering one of these to get me by, but would like to find something a little more exotic... Thank you for your suggestions, I appreciate it.

Queen Mountain Man is about the same size and comes with a lanyard hole. GEC #23's are tougher to find but some of them were single blades with a lanyard hole. I've been carrying the heck out of my Douk Douk which is slightly smaller but carries a lot easier in the pocket because of how thin it is.

I have had Glennbad mod several of my knives with Stag he is very reasonable with price but he is in high demand and turnaround time is a little long. Here is a Buck 110 he did for me when I sent it to him it had plain Jane Dymondwood covers. You can have it customized with what ever handle material you like I'm just a fan of stag. There are also others here that do great work but I have only had experience with Glenn.

These are some other knives he has done for me.

Chris, if you go to GEC website .net you will see a list of distributors. Several of those still have the Tidioute and Northfield versions of the 72.

You should give the S&M Mountain Man a look. I just got one, and I'm in love.

VCM3 that's a very impressive knife. The s&m mountain man is really nice too. I really like the broad blades on them.

Just found me a chestnut bone back pocket in cv. I've been wanting a BP for a while and it does not disappoint.

I agree, VCM3's would be my blade of choice, but it's a bit out of my budget. The Mountain Man is the next best available option.

Well then there's no sense me showing you a full blown custom then. Although that Case Base is like a custom handmade knife.

Honestly the one you ordered is pretty nice ,I'd carry that if I had one. I like that sawcut bone. Keep in mind, that bone will change appearance over time as it gets used -in look, between dirt & hand oil & every other thing you throw at it.

I believe that's the Case Bose Wilfred Works lockback hunter, you're looking at a $350 or so knife.

Thanks asolux. Looks like that first one doesnt meet my lanyard hole requirement, but i like that ag russell a lot, havent seen that before.

John Lloyd could make you a nice one to your specs without getting too expensive.

Yeah the Russell is an awesome knife and it's around the $40 range. Wood scales. And I believe it's called the Rancher. Stainless blade
