Seeking Insight on TBS Boar Locking Knife

Even if you don't end up using it, i definitely think having the option is better than not having one. Someone should invent some kind of in pocket, clipped knife holder, that retains with friction or spring tension, but allows quick extraction of the knife. Then you could have the convenience and smooth ergos.

Just an update- as i was browing the Website today, i noticed the Stainless models have been upgraded to Sandvik 14c28n. This is a huge bonus to me, as that is one of my favored stainless steels. I usually prefer carbon steels, but Sandvik's act very similarly.

It's very fine grained, so makes for a beautiful woodworking edge, rivaling O1, the 10-- series, and UHB20c steels. In my use, it holds an edge a surprisingly long time, especially when polished, and it is incredibly corrosion resistant thanks to the nitrogen.

I always liked 12c27, and that wont change. But 14c28n, for the same price, is a great upgrade.

A little bit of a lethargic response on my part, but good to know, thanks! I have used Sandvik before and was very impressed with how sharp I could get it. Definitely a decent steel!

I also have the TBS boar liner lock.
Great knife a real foldable bushcraft knife.

On the list of alternatives I would also mention the Eka swede 92.
A real reliable classic

I really like the new Enzo, tho i hope they switch to the foldover clip of the Birk.

I also hope they make it & the wonderful Birk in Sandvik steel, (12c27, 13c36 or 14c28n- i love them all.) with a zero bevel, edge stability trumps wear resistance, and so i think you could have an even more effective knife, with less pricey, (not lesser quality,) steel. Plus, it'd be faster to sharpen. TBS has the right idea with the Boar's steel.
