Shatterverse Entertainment will be going into production (tentatively in November) on a suspense action thriller featuring a new iconic style character created specifically for the big screen. The film has been financed (even if low budget) and we are seeking a knife maker to either create a custom knife for the main character (or a knife that is already created which meets certain specifications).

Yes, we are looking for pro-bono work, but the upside is that not only will your knife be heavily featured in the film, but it will also be used on the character poster as well and you will also receive screen credit for the donation.

If you are interested, please send samples of your work and to discuss the project further contact me directly at... shatterverseentertainment@gmail.com

(((Serious inquiries only please))) Thanks for your time.

Regards,
John Regan
(Producer/Director/Writer)

I work in the music business and hear these type of deals all the time. You are asking someone to give something that they have created so that you can make money on it. My experience in music has been, that the people that want to use your talent for free to give exposure, are usually amateur operators and the "exposure" that is given is worth far less than what the band ( or knifemaker in this case) put into the event. The good knifemakers on this site have spent years learning their craft, invested thousands of dollars on tools and created original works that are in demand. I would never do a deal like this. Ass up some cash, and I'm sure you will get a response.

How low is the budget? A fixed blade custom are usually below 1000,-.. something wrong if you cant put that aside for such an important part of the movie.

This reminds me of the "design us a logo because we are too cheap to hire advertising studio to create it for us - and reward you with measely few bucks and product prizes!".

And that gmail address too :D

Try oldetownsmithy or renforthcustomknives on etsy. ..both independently owned and operated. ..you never know. ....the make stuff that's worth looking at and deserve some attention

I am an amateur operator. This will be my first Independent feature film. I've made several short films. I'm not claiming to be Hollywood. I'm also not twisting anyone's arm. You don't like the deal, don't do it. Simple as that.

If a maker here wants to explore this, please do so privately. If it works out, come back and tell us about it. :)
