Hello, I'm a martial arts practitioner in Shorin-Ryu Karate and Kobudo. I'm in a bit of predicament trying to find a nice pair of Kama with dull, stainless steel blades for training. I used to own a beastly set of Okinawan made kama consisting of Japanese red oak handles and thick, 5 1/2 steel blades. I really loved that pair of kama, but they were too hard on my shoulders and the plain steel blades started to rust.

I then bought a lighter pair made from a weapons maker in Virginia. They have American white oak handles with laminated steel blades. They solved the weight problem, but the quality is apparent and their longevity is really starting to go downhill.

One of my sensei's showed me her pair of kama and they were made by Harold Corby. I was amazed at the quality and have pinned for my own pair ever since. Unfortunately, I found out Mr. Corby's no longer in the knife making business so I can't ask him to make me a pair.

I was wondering if anyone on this forum has any advise on who I can contact to have a quality pair of kama made for me to last a lifetime.

Anything will help and thanks in advance.

Dang make me want a pair. I always wanted a pair of sai from TMNT. Wise men say forgiveness is divine but never pay full price for late pizza.
