Hello, Thanks for your time. I have a design for a knife that I think may have much potential. I am considering using Frank Carter of TX and Gigand of Taiwan to cast these knives. We are in very preliminary stages of design and development. I am looking for suggestions for other manufacturers. We're not really sure where to start but thought we'd seek BladeForums' ideas. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Marty

Why not have one of the custom makers here make a few...
Post the pics and then see what the potential is.

There is not much info in your post to go on ( I know you are worried about your idea getting out). Some very basic info would be helpful for getting advise back.
What basic knife type (hunting, folder, fishing, kitchen)
What materials (stainless, carbon, other)
What is being cast (guard, pommel, blade, entire handle)

Some points to consider:
Have you thought of water jet cutting instead of casting?
Have you planned the construction steps after parts are made?
Have you researched the actual market for this knife?
Is there a current successful knife on the market similar to it?

Looking to hear more about this project.
Stacy

Hey Marty, give me a call. I can run you some prototypes and your production runs.
