We ship diamonds every day at work.Over the past 20 years we have used USPS ,mostly registered,and UPS. We now do about 99% UPS.Maybe once a year there is a problem,and it is cleared up in a day or two.With USPS there were always problems,and I agree,unless you have it sent registered,there is little good in the "guarantees" of delivery confirmation.The only reason I see to use USPS is to send a registered and insured package for a larger value than UPS will cover.Since few knives are in that range,there is no reason to put up with USPS's BS.( BTW ,My brother works for USPS,so I have no personal beef with them)
