I really love living in the desert! Almost December, and it got up to almost 60 degrees today:D A beautiful day to go for a drive. About 45 minutes north of Moab, at the base of the Bookcliffs, are a set of really nice Ute rock-art panels.

If you look close you can see that there are paintings and carvings mixed together

These were across the road at ground level and all life-sized. Too bad people seem to think they're at the right height for target practice:mad:

A little farther up the road...

An old forge, maybe?

Where we stopped for lunch had a nice view

The knives I brought-my holy grail Busse, and one I made

Then on the way out we ran across this old house (I just thought it would look better in B&W) and around the corner from it an old family cemetery that I didn't get any good pictures of.

All in all, not a bad way to start off my day!

Nice steel and beautiful desert !! Went through Moab on the way home in July and are planning a one month trip to the area in the future. Nice Busse- great job on yours too- KUDOS all the way around.

Thanks! I don't ever want to live anywhere else-I can go out and explore new areas every week without leaving the general vicinity. Mountains and river in the summer, and then play in the desert all winter long, though I'm one of those fools that love to go on a day hike in 100+ degree weather:)

The book cliffs are a cool area. And there aren't a lot of people anywhere near there, so you can pretty much have it all to yourself.
