Seki Cut Titanium framed Folder

Just returned from a little trip so to speak… and upon arrival I was advised that I have a “need” to carry a more “gentlemanly pocket knife” (in that a few colleagues hear me call my usual and customary carry knife/knives such as my Missions, Etc... "pocket knives") and I was promptly presented with this little folder.

I’m told that it was chosen in part because of the burl scales (matches pipe burl and I’m known to occasionally light one up), the blue liners were “pretty” :confused:, and I’ve been heard to mention Damascus and/or layered blades and that was thought to be “pretty” :confused: as well.

In any event… it’s a Seki Cut liner lock folder, the 2 ½ inch blade is marked VG-10 Seki Japan, and appears to have a laminated (San-Mai type) blade. The “burl” appears to be real and I have just been advised that the blue “pretty” :eek: scales are anodized Titanium. The liner lock seems solid but I don’t think I will use this very hard so I doubt that it will be an issue. All in all I like this little folder and I will happily carry it when I need to wear a suit.

This was a gift?

The only thing that throws me is the phillip head screws. They look out of place on a such a good looking knife.
 
Agreed with the post above...they should've used torx screws instead of the phillip heads. Maybe get your own screws and countersink the scale a bit more too? :p
 
I wondered about the screws too... The pivot screw is a torx but the cross head screws initially made me think that this was a cheap knife... :foot:

Thank you all... :D

It has a label with "Hiro Knives" on the spnge like wrapper and has "Model: SC-160" on the box.
 
That's a nice looking blade , but do agree on the screws.

After getting used to torx it is hard to envision anything else on a knife.
