I, for one, long ago accepted that MY preferences are not shared by the majority. I voted for the knife I wanted, then the closest thing to the one I wanted, then the next closest thing to the one I wanted. There comes a time when one simply accepts that this isn't going to be the knife one wants. I might still buy this, because the pattern has a certain appeal to me; but odds are good that that I'll just let it pass.

Hhmoore, I understand your position, I am still on the fence about this one. I really would like to have the pattern and I am a big fan of single blade slipjoints but I can’t get excited about another brown handled knife. Maybe I will pick one up just to say I have one and if I REALLY don’t like it then toss it in my toolbox to use for all of those jobs that I don’t to use a nice knife for.

Well, I’m excited to see how this turns out. Regardless, it will hit a couple of firsts for my small collection… first 86, first sawcut covers, first hemlock dyed knife. Anyway, it will be used, so it will end up looking great, regardless of how it starts!

Don't be so glum, chum. You could always get out the Elmer's glue and dash your favorite glitter on it.
Besides, these aren't going to be your typical brown.
