Been researching for a month or so and now getting even more confused on selecting a solid choice. Members, from the forum, can comment or give direction on those makers that make a solid, practical, can take a beating and ergonomic hawk?

Recommendations from experiences and items to watch out for pro and con…
Stuff like material composition and handle composition - pitfalls to avoid, etc…

This will be a Birthday gift to my father and looking for the Best one made or a very good one for him! It is something he always wanted.

Thanks in advance.

I really like my Swamp Rat Crash Ax. One piece, good ergos, great steel (S7), best warrenty. I kissed some rebar with mine the other day. Couple of slight dings.

Can be hard to find, but there are a couple out there for sale. Orig. price was $175 or so, after market will be slightly higher, as well as auction sites.
There are many good choices out there. Good luck!

Vectors Hawks are second to none for a tacitcal/service hawk.

Look for him or Erica around here on the forums and send them a pm.
Great couple of folks.
