Selector 428 blade

tiguy, thanks. I'm not sanding tonight as I have the blade soaking in vinegar to remove the rust spots. Then I'll sand some more on it. I have some 1/8" stainless barstock on hand. (440C, ATS-34 and CPM-154) Only getting it down to 1/16" takes a lot of grinding. Besides this one is not for sale only for my use. I don't mind using a non-stainless blade for food prep. Just oil it afterward. DM

That looks really good David. You should suggest that Buck make something like this for the new Selector 2.0 I think it would sell. Or at least I would buy one.

Thanks, Ron. I liked the flexibility of quickly changing a blade and did this project. Now, I don't have to carry a separate knife for filleting or cutting up potatoes at camp. I went ahead and used it on slicing some brisket. Best wishes toward procuring a 313. DM

Here's a Winter project I've been working on. Day dreaming on for a long time. Another blade for my Selector. I've been wanting a bait, filleting, boning & quartering blade for this model's handle. I've been working on it today and this is my progress. The new blade will be 6" and a little up swept. Cut from 01 steel and I gave it a full flat grind with some belly. DM
Mr. Martin did you ever find the v52 hawkbill blade. I still look from time to time.

welcome back PCL see you were part of this old thread...... as jb4570 said...David has passed on and left us to go to a better place. he can't answer your question. I don't know if he ever did.....

I miss David, he was a good man and full of great information and always willing to share it. I enjoy seeing his old posts as it almost feels like he's still with us......but

always best to start a new thread than bring up a dead one, unless of course its your thread and you're adding to it.

PLC,

It's not good forum educate to post on an old Zombie thread. Better to start a new whole thread and link the old thread to it. MR. Martin whom you are trying convers with has passed away.
My apologies for posting a question to a person I had great respect for. Not my first day here and I see there are still members here that find it necessary to be critical of others. If your not a moderator kindly let them correct me.
