I detest silver pocket clips as they stand out too much. What is a good wear resistant coating that can be self applied?

Thanks

I'm curious to know as well. I have tried sanding, acid washing, and heat ano, and I hate them all. Would like something where I could make it blue... maybe some gun blue?

What brand knife? Benchmade sent me a different pocket clip for one of my knives. All I did was email and tell them I was not pleased with the clip that came on the knife. They sent me a deep carry clip in a different color and new screws to match.

You could try cerakote... you can apply it yourself, but You will need a blast cabinet. It will wear after a while but it wears well and doesn't chip. And there is a lot of colors available.

I Dura-Coated an import Benchmade blade when I was doing one of my shotguns, and unfortunately lost the blade sometime awhile ago, so never got a chance to test the durability. For the $25 or so for the kit though, my shotgun, with minimal use though, has shown great rust inhibition, and only some slight wear at the barrel. I had enough in the kit to easily do an entire 870, plus my Glock, and the knife. Not a bad cost if you want to experiment, and/or have some other stuff you want to coat as well.
