Self-made gear

Thanks guys for the billy can info. I was looking with something a bit tougher, actually. Even thinking about using chimney material or something... I'm still thinking/searching.

Cheers,

David

I haven't started selling any yet. I an not quite sure how to start doing that. I like making nice survival style blades..........

a great site that has a few nice home-made gear projects is www.primitiveways.com . My fave, and a surprisingly effective one, is the 3-stick roycroft pack frame. I've gone on 3 day hikes with one of these, and it was as comfortable as any pack I've ever bought. I made a special blanket just for using with one of these frames, (2 layers of fleece sandwiching a foil backed quilt batting...very warm), that way I have a very good bedroll without carrying anything extra...it's the body of my pack!

Hmm home made items...

I like taking a couple layers of aluminum foil, throwing your favorite fish on the aluminum foil... and dumping your favorite bucket of BBQ sauce on it till she floats. Then cook it on the grill :D

Home made... perfect for survival situations where you have to unstock a defrosting freezer!

BBQ tuna... when I cook it my filets go to waste.

Get a tuna steak, throw some western carolina tomatoe base sauce on it.

Would you put soy sauce on a fish? Would you baste it in anything? Try some BBQ sauce next time :D
