Sell it or fix it first?

Well, I am definitely not impressed with my new Buck Strider Spearpoint, serial number 001 of 500. See the post in this forum on Strider Spearpoint review. My major problems are it has too much blade wobble and the liner isn't squared up. Hopefully if I send it back to Buck for warranty work, they'll fix it right, but is it worth less because it will have been reworked by Buck? My friend says an original, defective, is worth more in original condition than the same original, repaired. I don't think I buy it. I mean error coins are one thing but knives...?

Should I sell it as is or fix it first?

If I still have it after the weekend gun and knife show in Mesquite, I think I'm gonna send it to Joe for work.

Then it's for sale. How much $$$, I have no idea.

Steven, I think if you send it back to Buck, it'll still be as valuable. Since the factory is the official assembly place, it's no different than if they re-tuned it before it left there. (On the other hand, you could sell it to me for a "distress" sale price!
Just kidding, just kidding!)

All kidding aside, let Buck make it right.

Hi Steve
There is no company on earth that goes further than Buck to keep their customers smiling. Period.
I have has several knives worked on by Buck and every one came back perfect.
Worth less? I don't think so. Now flawless? Yup. And worth more than one out of wack or unadjusted.
Send it to Joe and let him work his magic.
